In the period from 07 till 09 September 2010 the Ukrainian State Centre of Radio Frequencies (UCRF) will host the ITU workshop “Radio monitoring and enhancement of spectrum usage efficiency” organized by the ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau in the framework of the ITU Centre of Excellence Project. Traditionally, the workshop will be complemented by a one-day international exhibition "Radiomonitoring equipment and systems - status and prospects of development and production" organized by the UCRF on 09 September 2010.

The UCRF was assigned by the Ukrainian Administration as a coordinating organization for the ITU Centre of Excellence Project and has been acting as one from four Nodes of the ITU Centre of Excellence network for CIS. The UCRF has been taken part in realization of the ITU Centre of Excellence Project for CIS and European countries since 2003. The exhibitions on spectrum monitoring issues have been carried out every two years since 2002.
The main objective of the exhibition and ITU workshop is to provide practical information and to share experience on current situation, problems and trends in the development of spectrum monitoring systems and enhancement of spectrum usage efficiency as well as to become familiar with state-of the-art radio monitoring equipment and facilities.
It is planned to discuss the following main topics at the workshop:
- radio monitoring – information base for regulation of frequency-and-orbital resource and radio frequency spectrum use
- current spectrum monitoring methods and equipment
- ITU and international spectrum monitoring (international agreements, studies, standards, methods and guidance)
- satellite orbits usage monitoring and earth stations geo-location
- status and trends of the development of national radio monitoring systems
- international radio monitoring system
- state-of the-art radio monitoring equipment and facilities
- World Radiocommunication Conference 2012 (WRC-12) and radio monitoring
CIS and Europe national telecommunication administrations, regulatory authorities, spectrum management bodies, research and development organizations, equipment designers and manufacturers, and representatives from other interested organizations, involved in spectrum monitoring of modern radiocommunication equipment, networks and systems, are invited to participate in the exhibition and ITU workshop.
PARTICIPATION:
- There is no registration fee for participation in the exhibition and workshop
- Participants must cover their own travel, insurance and accommodation expenses
- The Workshop will be carried out in English and Russian languages (simultaneous translation)
- In order to apply for participation in the ITU workshop, please, send a completed registration form (гиперссылка) to the UCRF by e-mail or fax indicated in it not later than 20 August 2010.
- The participants wishing to made a presentation during the workshop are requested to send the following:
- paper title and abstract, no later than 30 July 2010, and
- complete paper in Microsoft PowerPoint format, no later than 25 August 2010
