In the period from 08 till 10 July 2008 the Ukrainian State Centre of Radio Frequencies (UCRF) will host the ITU Workshop “Spectrum monitoring today and tomorrow. Tasks, problems and solutions” organized by the ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau in the framework of the ITU Centre of Excellence Project. Traditionally, the workshop will be complemented by a one-day international exhibition "Radiomonitoring equipment and systems - state and prospects of development and production" organized by the UCRF on 10 July 2008.

The UCRF has been acting as a Node of the ITU Centre of Excellence network for CIS and Europe countries since 2003. As well the UCRF was assigned by the Ukrainian Administration as a coordinating organization for the ITU Centre of Excellence Project. The exhibitions on spectrum monitoring issues have been carried out every two years since 2002.
The main objective of the exhibition and workshop will be to provide practical information and exchange experience regarding the current situation, problems and tendencies in development of spectrum monitoring systems at the national level, as well as acquaintance with modern developments in the field of radiomonitoring.
It is planned to discuss the following main questions at the workshop:
- state, problems and trends in development of national spectrum monitoring systems
- ITU and international spectrum monitoring system – legal, regulation and technical basis
- modern spectrum monitoring methods and equipment
- methodology for spectrum monitoring of radio communication devices and networks using new types of signals
- planning spectrum monitoring networks – calculation methods and practical realization
- spectrum monitoring of satellite communication networks
- radio monitoring and quality of radiocommunication service
CIS and Europe national telecommunication administrations, regulatory authorities, spectrum management bodies, research and development organizations, equipment designers and manufacturers, and representatives from other interested organizations, involved in spectrum monitoring of modern radiocommunication equipment, networks and systems, are invited to participate in the exhibition and ITU workshop.
PARTICIPATION:
- It is not planned to charge registration fee for the exhibition and workshop
- Participants must cover their own travel and living expenses
- The Workshop will be carried out in English and Russian languages (simultaneous translation)

All participants wishing to submit a paper during the workshop are requested to send the following:
- paper title and abstract, no later than 20 June 2008
- complete paper in Microsoft PowerPoint format, no later than 30 June 2008.
