About the Centre
| The
Centre of Excellence of International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for
Europe and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS countries) is
created in accordance with the decision of ITU World Conference taken
place in Istanbul, Turkey, 2002. It is involved into the training
networks of regional ITU centers of excellence covering the countries
from Asia, Africa, America and Europe. | Training centre of the Centre "Ukrchastotnaglyad" | The
main goal of the networks of these centers is to prepare for regional
level of specialists in telecommunication policy, regulation and
management for telecommunication resource usage, to implement the
updated technologies and services taking into account the growing
requirements for qualification of staff operating in telecommunication
sector. The Centre of Excellence for Europe and CIS countries consists of two branches - Russian-speaking and English-speaking ones. Russian-speaking branch involves: - Byelorussia, Moldova, Russian Federation, Ukraine (Eastern-European sub-region);
- Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan (Central-Asian sub-region);
- Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan (Caucasus sub-region).
English-speaking branch involves: - Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania (Baltic sub-region);
- Czech republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia (Central-European sub-region);
- Albany,
Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Macedonia,
Romania, Turkey, Serbia and Montenegro (South-Eastern-European
sub-region).
The Coordination Council,
administers the work of the Center of Excellence for Europe and CIS
countries, the office of which is located in Moscow, Russian
Federation. The nodes of the Center in each country are
higher educational institutions and centers of excellence for
telecommunication operators and regulatory authorities. The Training
centre of the Centre "Ukrchastotnaglyad" in Kyiv plays a key role of
such a node in Ukraine.
