From the moment of approving the decision by the leadership
of the Centre "Ukrchastotnaglyad" concerning the creation of amateur
radio station (on public grounds) within the Centre (21 March 2002) came more
than 2 years. During this short term the amateur radio station (ARS)
participated in 14 grand international competitions (in telephonic and
telegraphic rounds CQ World Wide WPX Contest, IARU HF World Championship,
European HF Championship, TOEC contest, CQ World Wide WPX Contest RTTY (teletype)
and etc.), in which it was conducted more 12 000 communications with radio
amateurs from 150 countries. Besides participation in international contests, ARS
of the Centre it was 6 000 radio communications in all radio amateur ranges. According
to the results of contests: CQ World Wide WPX Contest RTTY (teletype) 2003 –
the collective of EM0U won 3rd place in the world; CQ World Wide WPX
Contest 2002 and IARU HF World
Championship 2002 – 1st place in Ukraine. During this period the
operators from ARS club of UCRF accomplished and gained more 10 radio amateur
diplomas.

Since August 2002 regularly
on Saturdays from 9.00 till 10.00 in the frequency band 7 070 MHz of collective
ARS of the Centre the round table talks
were held between the radio amateurs of Ukraine and CIS countries, where it was
proved and explained the issues concerning assignments of call-signs, procedures
for issuing the permissions for construction, modernization, production, acquisition,
realization, usage of radio electronic facilities (REFs), as well importing
them and other issues related to the usage of REFs, including radiophones and
radio extenders. On this moment more than 45 round table talks took place.
Besides, operators from
the collective ARS of the Centre take part in fulfilling the radio monitoring
works in parts of shortwave range, belonging to the amateur service of Ukraine,
as well shortwave ranges in the band 1,5 - 14 MHz. Since 2004 it was detected
more 34 violations of provisions "Amateur radio communication regulations"
from radio amateurs of 12 oblasts of Ukraine. It was detected the works more 27
radio transmitting devices, illegally operated in shortwave ranges (1500 - 3400
kHz ), so-called "radio hooligans". Based on the above-mentioned
facts, the radio monitoring service prepared and forwarded the notices to the
address of regional STI to take measures for discontinuing the operation of
illegal operating transmitters.
